Rahmat Mia is a poor rickshaw puller in Dhaka. He pulls rickshaw in different areas of the city. One day he saw some men selling lottery tickets. He felt tempted and bought a ticket. He knew the date of the draw. He was waiting eagerly for the day. Then the much awaited day came and he purchased a daily newspaper and went to his slum to check his number on the sly. He was very excited as dream peeped into his heart unconsciously. He took out his ticket from a torn bag agilely. First he checked his own number and then looked on the paper to find his number out. To his utter surprise he found his number at the first prize place. He revised, revised and revised. But he could not believe his own eyes. What a surprise! He is the winner of the first prize that means he is the owner of 50 lakh taka. He thought to himself. He felt shouting but he did not do so. He told noting to anyone even to his wife. He on the sly communicated with the concerned authorities and got the money within a short time. In the mean time, his name was published in the newspaper as the first prize winner of the lottery. He told his slummates to spend a good portion for the welfare of them. He deposited half of the amount in a bank and with the another half he bought a land and built house there. He also gave his slum-mates some loans so that they might start a co-operative business. He himself also joined the business and their slums became a solvent one. Thus a lottery changes the fate of some slum dwellers.

Mugdho's Sacrifice to Establish Rightful Demand

From the very young age, Mugdho always spoke up against injustice. So, when he saw the students fighting against the fascist Hasina government for their rightful demand of quota reform, he could not sit idle in the house.

On 18 July 2024, Mugdho set out to distribute food and water to the protestors who took part in the anti-discrimination students movement. He came out with water bottles and boxes of biscuits in hands. He shouted, "Water, water, who needs water?" He did so believing that the protesters were fighting for justice. Suddenly. law enforcers opened fire to disperse the crowd, and a bullet struck his forehead, exiting through his right ear. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival at Crescent Hospital. His selfless act of service, captured in a video just minutes before his death. Rumour Results in Tragedy

Rati is a worker of a big factory in Dhaka. There are more than 500 workers in the factory. One day while he was working, a loud sound was heard. Fire! Fire! Help! Help! As ill news runs apace, the news spread very fast among the workers. Naturally all the workers got into a panic. They started to run at a time towards the gate of the garments factory. There was only one gate to come out of the factory and only one stair to come down to the gate. So while all the workers were trying to come out of the factory using the only stair, some workers fell down. Rati was one of them. They were trodden down by other workers. At least ten workers were severely injured and two faced death. But fortunately Rati's injury was not fatal. It was irony of the fate that there was actually no fire. In fact, a naughty young worker out of jest cried out saying "fire, fire". The other workers took it true and started to come out of the factory resulting in a tragic accident.
